B’nai B’rith UK (BBUK) is a division of B’nai B’rith Europe, and comes under the umbrella of B’nai B’rith International, based in Washington, DC. BBUK operates 18 lodges in the United Kingdom, each of which offers diverse programming such as speaker discussions, theater outings, cultural visits, and musical events. The lodges also support charity projects, including raising funds for the underprivileged in Israel, a food and medical program for the elderly, scholarships for college students, and leadership opportunities for local Jewish youth. The London Bureau of International Affairs was founded in 1998 as an affiliate of the Washington-based Center for Human Rights and Public Policy (CHRPP). LBIA engages with the national government and foreign embassies on behalf of Jews, and world minorities in general. The organization is a major contributor and supporter to the European-Jewish Heritage Day, which is sponsored by BBE.
